How to Use Promotional Pop-ups to Promote your Latest Offer

Love 'em or hate 'em, pop-ups are effective.

How do you feel about pop-ups? If you're like most people you find them irritating at best and a total turn-off at worst. They do work though. With more people seeing your offer (can't miss it!) more people will take advantage of it. So stick with me, they are at least worth considering...

Know your audience

Surprise! Not everyone is selling services to the same people, so what works for one business owner isn't necessarily going to work for you. Put aside your personal preferences here and try to get a feel for your people. Will a pop-up on your website be helpful to focus them on something they want to see? Or will it distract and overwhelm them?

Know your options

All pop-ups are not created equal. You can customize your pop-up's position, size, delay timing, page placement and more. You have control over how aggressive that advertisement is. Use that power to your advantage and create the user experience you want for your website visitors.

Test and adjust

You're not stuck with a pop-up forever. Especially if you're website is on Squarespace, it's very easy to turn it off or make adjustments. Maybe give it a try for a specific promotion and then turn it off again. Play with it and see what works and what doesn't with your customers.
